The late Jim Treacy will be remembered for more than his skills on the hurling pitch.
The legendary Benenttsbridge native and county star died on Thursday aged 82 sparking tributes, including on KCLR yesterday from Alan Flynn (Bennettsbridge GAA Club), Cllr Pat Fitzpatrick and the famed Eddie Keher who Jim battled beside on the pitch. (Listen back to those here).
The Kilkenny GAA County Board too hailed him as “a central figure during a golden era for both club and county” (read what they had to say in full here).
Jim will be reposed at his home tomorrow (Sunday) before his funeral on Monday (details here).
Labour Councillor Seán O’hArgain is the latest to add his voice – he’s been telling KCLR News’ Edwina Grace of the support Jim had given to a number of local Labour candidates over the years …
