A man has died following this morning’s crash in County Carlow.
The two-vehicle incident happened on the R448 Carlow Kilkenny Road at Leighlinbridge at approx 9:30am.
A car and motorbike were involved – the motorcyclist, who was aged in his forties, was airlifted to Mater Misericordiae University Hospital in Dublin with injuries described as serious but he’s since been pronounced deceased.
A stretch of the route had closed for a number of hours while a technical examination of the scene was carried out, but has now reopened.
Gardaí are appealing for anybody who was in the area between 8:45am and 9:45am to contact them, they’re particularly keen to hear from those with footage of any form.
