Fianna Fáil councillor Fintan Phelan says his party must remain focused on delivering in government despite a drop in support in the latest opinion poll.
The Sunday Independent/Ireland Thinks poll shows Fianna Fáil down one point to 16%, while 41% of those questioned believe Micheál Martin should step down as party leader.
Councillor Phelan told KCLR News that opinion polls come and go, and the Government’s priority must remain housing and improving services for people with disabilities; “The CDNT networks which aren’t working right across the country in the way that they should be, and indeed in this area they’re not working the way they should be, and the Government has to deliver a change in those areas, and I would be very vocal in relation to that, that the Government needs to deliver change in those areas, you can’t be guided by opinion polls but you have to try and implement change and deliver for people”.
