A ‘lively presentation’ on the quirky history of saints associated with county Carlow is being promised by the county library service later.
Its Christopher Power with Author and writer-in-residence Caroline Busher have united for a talk which is set to describe in detail the mostly forgotten aspect of this local history.
Saints Columbanus, Laserian, Moling, Fintan, Finian and many more have ties to the locality with St Willibrord, who’d settled in Luxembourg in the 7th Century, still proving vital in forming an important connection to that area Carlow twinned with the country for Ireland’s hosting of the EU Presidency.
This lively presentation is about the quirky history of saints associated with county Carlow. Describing beautiful and little known locations in the county associated with a surprising number of Carlow saints, author and writer in residence Caroline Busher and Christopher Power, of Carlow Library Service, will describe in fascinating detail this mostly forgotten aspect of our counties history. Using images and unique sources, this promises to be a very interesting event.
