16 local food producers are in the running for a Blás na hÉireann award.
More than 3,000 entries were submitted to the national competition for which categories have increased from 170 to 200 for this year.
Finalists from Carlow are Bolton Family Jam, Carlow Brewing, Carlow Farmhouse, Murphy`s Craft Butchers, Royal Oak Distillery, Seerys Heatherfield Ltd and Sunshine Juices. (More from Carlow LEO on this here).
Joining them from Kilkenny are Arán Bakery & Bistro, Cafe la Coco, Callan Bacon, Goatsbridge Fish Processors Ltd, Highbank Orchard, Karro Food Ltd – Cookstown, Lekker Food Collection, McCarthy’s SuperValu, Newpark Shopping Centre Kilkenny and Tirlán. (More from Kilkenny LEO here).
Awards will be presented in Dingle on the 2nd of October, with the full weekend of activities running from 1st to 4th of that month.
