The hottest temperature in Ireland recorded yesterday was in Carlow.
Oak Park hit 29.7 degrees Celcius amid the latest status yellow high temp warning from Met Éireann.
Though expected to be in the mid-twenties again today in the South East and East of the country, fresher weather’s on the way.
Met Éireann Meteorologist Siobhan Ryan says no records have been broken during the hot spell over the past few days; “We’ve had four consecutive months now with a temperature in excess of 30 Degrees Celcius so that is exceptionally, so yesterday 29.7 Degrees Celcius, no records per se, but we’ll have to keep a watch on that looking backwards as well”.
