My Lovely Horse Rescue has hit out at elements of the Borris Fair.
The team say they made an emergency visit to the annual county Carlow event on Saturday and were concerned for some of the animals there.
A young horse was taken by them and is now in veterinary care. (They’re appealing for donations to help them carry out their work – details here).
While it’s claimed pellet guns were aimed at animals and people.
KCLR News has contacted Gardaí to see if any such incidents were reported to them while we’re due to hear from others from the area so stay tuned for that.
For the most part, the day appears to have gone well though attendance continues to be lower than had been logged in years gone by, while the county council led post event cleanup operation was carried out quickly.
