UPDATE (9:20am, Thursday 2th Aug – re R700 at Killarney Bridge):
It looks like there were no major injuries reported in this morning’s two-car crash on the R700 Kilkenny / Thomastown Road.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene near Killarney Bridge following the incident which happened just before 7:30am.
The route had closed for a time but has now reopened.
UPDATE (7:55am, Thursday 20th Aug – re R432 Ballyragget/Ballyouskil):
Two people have been taken to hospital following a single-vehicle crash last night in County Kilkenny.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the incident on the R432 near Coole, Ballyragget which happened shortly after 9:15pm.
It involved one motorbike – its driver and passenger, both males aged in their thirties, have been taken to St Luke’s General in the city for treatment of what have been described as ‘serious injuries’.
The road is closed pending technical examination with local diversions in place.
Road users who were travelling on the R432 Ballyragget to Ballyouskill Road, Co. Kilkenny last night between 8:30pm and 9:30pm and who may have camera footage (including dash-cam), are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.

Emergency services have been busy in county Kilkenny this morning.
The Ballyouskil / Ballyragget Road is closed following an incident overnight.
Those with knowledge of the area advise motorists divert via Attannagh.
It’s not yet known if anybody’s been injured.
Added to that KCLR News is hearing reports of a crash on the Kilkenny side of Killarney Bridge on the R700 route to Thomastown which happened before 7:30am.
