31 motorists caught using mobile phones while driving during targeted operation in Kilkenny

Gardaí in Kilkenny caught 31 motorists using mobile phones during a dedicated operation yesterday targeting distracted driving.

22 were spotted in Kilkenny city, with most texting or using their phones in other ways than making calls.

A further nine were caught outside the city, while two motorists were also detected speeding.

Gardaí are urging drivers to put their phones away.
