Romania’s Ambassador to Ireland, Laurențiu-Mihai Ștefan, has visited Kilkenny as the county marks its connection with Romania during the country’s EU Presidency.
He was joined by Irelands Ambassador to Romania Brendan Ward who has ties to the locality.
A flag-raising ceremony was held at County Hall, with the Romanian flag raised by the two ambassadors, the Cathaoirleach and Mayor of Kilkenny.
It will fly at County Hall until the end of the year.
Ambassador Ștefan says he has a strong relationship with Kilkenny and praised the vibrant Romanian community in Kilkenny and Carlow.
