Kilkenny’s Barnstorm Theatre Company are celebrating their 35th anniversary this year.
To mark the occasion, the performing arts group are opening a free retrospective exhibition at Watergate Theatre Gallery in Kilkenny this Wednesday.
The exhibition will use digital archives to showcase production images, press cuttings and trailers for the shows over the last three and a half decades, all at the click of the button.
Richard Mansworth, Producer with the Theatre Company told The KCLR Daily that the retrospective celebrates Barnstorm’s artistic legacy and highlights the importance of theatre as a space for creativity, imagination and community, particularly for young people.
He added that the display will give visitors a chance the view the extensive repertoire of Barnstorm’s Youth Theatre, something that emphasises the work that the company has done to create that space for young people over the years.
