The Butts: Further traffic chaos expected as phase two of works begin today

Residents of the Butts in Kilkenny City are bracing themselves for more traffic chaos this week.

Phase two of the County Council’s planned roadworks get underway this morning – continuing up until this coming Sunday.

Last week, phase 1 caused huge problems for traffic and for those living in the area.

Locals even took to trying to block off a through road – they said to make it safer for their children and other people living there.

Residents say it’s not just causing problems for them but for anyone coming in from Tullaroan or the surrounding areas.
