A Carlow business is set to join forces with a Chinese company

A Carlow based company is joining forces with a Chinese company worth billions of dollars.
MicroGen Biotech which works out of IT Carlow will be in a position in increase its Irish workforce as a result of the deal.
The company was established 3 years ago as an Irish high potential start up spin out from the EnviroCore research group at IT Carlow which is support by enterprise Ireland.
This week on a trade mission to China Jobs Minister Richard Bruton announced that the Carlow based company is to form a joint venture with Chinas Energy Conservation and Environment Protection Group – a multi-billion dollar Chinese state-owned enterprise
The idea is that the 2 will work together to explore global opportunities in contaminated land remediation.
It will allow MicroGen to increase its workforce here in areas like research & development and marketing and product support.
Separately, MicroGen confirmed inward investment into Ireland from another Chinese company MINEGREEN that could provide up to Euro3million for the Carlow-based start-up.
