Kilkenny childcare manager says the introduction of the full affordable childcare scheme will leave the vulnerable

A local childcare manager says the introduction of the full affordable childcare scheme this year will force services to deliver a model they cannot budget for.

It differs from the existing scheme in that childcare providers will only be paid for the hours that children use rather than for providing the scheme.

Mick Kenny who manages Johnstown and Urlingford childcare campaigns for better quality and more investment in the sector.

He says they are already in a crisis.
