A man dies after mountain bike incident in Wexford yesterday afternoon

A man in his 50s has died following a mountain biking accident in north Wexford yesterday.

Emergency services were notified of the incident shortly after 1 o’clock yesterday afternoon at Askamore.

The man was seriously injured while mountain biking in a wooded area on private land.

He was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

The Coroner has been notified, and his body has been removed to the mortuary at Wexford Hospital, where a post-mortem examination will be arranged.
