A close-knit north Kilkenny community has pledged to continue to care for each other.
The Friends of Castlecomer District Hospital was set up in 2002 and since then all money raised goes directly to those availing of its respite care or using it as a step down facility from St Luke’s General.
It got some funding from the county Lions Club and the plan is to put that towards the cost of specialised beds which can be enlarged to allow family members to share it with their loved ones.
