A Status Yellow rain warning is coming into place locally today.
The alert is for Carlow, Kilkenny, Kildare, Laois, Offaly, Wicklow, and Dublin, as well as all counties in Munster.
It comes into effect at 6 pm today and will end at 6 pm on Friday.
Meanwhile, a Status Orange rain warning for Cork also comes into effect at six this evening and will remain in place for 24 hours.
Met Éireann said that persistent and sometimes heavy rainfall may cause localised flooding, poor visibility, and difficult traveling conditions.
