The founder of Chernobyl Children International says their hard-working team of volunteers in Kilkenny are the “backbone of the organisation”.
Adi Roche was speaking as today marks the very first International Chernobyl Disaster Remembrance Day.
Every year groups of children and young people come over from orphanages to spend time with families in Kilkenny as a form of respite for them.
And tonight a major fundraiser takes place in the form of a concert in the Set Theatre with Jack L and Bell X1 frontman, Paul Noonan amongst those performing.
Speaking to KCLR News, Adi Roche says their Kilkenny volunteers are some of the hardest workers they have.
