It was a weekend of triumph for Carlow and Kilkenny, with both counties celebrating All-Ireland success across multiple sports.

The Carlow Youth Darts team secured their third consecutive INDO Inter-Counties Championship, defeating Westmeath in a high-quality final.

Rebecca Allen (15) was the standout performer, hitting three 180s and posting an impressive 84 average. Captain Jack Courtney (16) also delivered under pressure, while Jamie French clinched the decisive game. Alongside teammates Luke Dooley, Daniel Nolan, Jamie Cooney, Con O’Reilly, and Lar Brennan Whelan, they showcased remarkable consistency throughout the tournament.

Manager Adam Dee hailed their achievement:

“Completing three in a row is no easy feat. Carlow youth darts is thriving, and it’s all down to these players.”

Six All-Ireland Handball Titles for Kilkenny

Kilkenny dominated at Croke Park, securing six juvenile All-Ireland titles.

In doubles, Jake O’Neill & Mattie Corr, Kate Ryan & Ashling Mullally, and Caoilin Dowling & Abbie Flanagan claimed gold. In singles, Niamh Drennan, Emily Phelan, and Ellie Roche were crowned champions, adding to the county’s handball legacy. Kilkenny also had senior representation in the All-Ireland Senior Doubles Final.

Kilkenny Footballers Claim Interleague Trophy

Kilkenny wrapped up their interleague season in style, defeating Galway in the final at the University of Limerick.

A dream start saw Ruby Collins convert a Mia Van Eeden cross inside two minutes. Lavena Fogarty doubled the lead after Emma Walsh forced a spill from the Galway keeper. Galway fought back to level 2-2 by halftime, but Kilkenny took control in the second half.

Jenna Trait’s composed finish restored their lead before a superb team goal—featuring Andrea Roche and Trait—sealed victory. Player of the Match Mollie-Rose Keegan anchored the defense, ensuring a well-deserved win.

A Weekend to Remember

From the dartboard to the alley and the pitch, Carlow and Kilkenny athletes proved their excellence. Congratulations to all involved on an incredible weekend of success!
