€480,000 is to be pumped into improving the back roads in Kilkenny and Carlow.
Under the local roads investment plan from the government, Kilkenny gets €290,000 while Carlow will receive €190,000.
The money will be used by the county councils to fix up small roads and laneways that don’t fall under maintenance by the Local Authorities.
