Ancestral estate of Dean Swift goes under the hammer in Kilkenny today

A part of the ancestral estate of famous writer Dean Jonathan Swift goes under the hammer in Kilkenny today.
87 acres of land in Swiftsheath in Jenkinstown is up for auction with a guide price of 10 thousand euro an acre.
Jonathan Swift was raised in Jenkinstown by his uncle Goodwin and the estate stayed in the family until 1971 when it was sold to Brigette and Michael Lennon who have put the land up for sale.
The auction is at 3pmĀ in the Newpark Hotel.
