Another rural Post Office could be closing

There are fresh fears that another local post office service could be lost.

The village of Bilboa in Carlow is facing closure after the postmistress passed away earlier this year.

Her son was granted a temporary contract for 6 months but that has now expired.

It comes after it’s been revealed that the post office in Inistioge – which was in the same position just weeks ago – will now remain open.

A four week public consultation process has now begun and speaking to KCLR, local TD Pat Deering says it’s up to the people of Bilboa to keep their service going.
