Appeal for Support as Castlecomer Prepares for Annual Wellie Race

Organisers of this year’s Wellie Race in Castlecomer are appealing for help with this year’s event.

Over 600 participants are expected to take part in the 46th annual New Year’s Day event.

Organisers are appealing to everyone to give what they can this year, and donations can be made through their website, wellierace.com.

They are also looking for stewards to help on the day, as organiser Chubby Brennan explains.

“We need help and the simple reason we need help is because people out there need help,” he said.

“Everybody talks about the Castlecomber Welly Race Committee, we’re a committee, we’re not the welly race, it’s the people that are listening to us now are the people that make the welly race.” he added.
