A hot plume of air from the south is bringing killer temperatures to parts of Europe this week.
Spain could reach 45 degrees Celcius, France could see 41 degrees, and England will experience values in the low 30’s.
However Ireland will escape the soaring heat.
But Carlow Weather’s Alan O’Reilly says it should still be warm and sunny, noting; “It will get up to 22 or even 23 degrees today in parts of the south and the east with some sunny spells but the north western area of the country will see cloud and some patchy rain with temperatures much lower below maybe 15/16 degrees, but that will clear and it will brighten up later in the day and temperatures tomorrow could actually reach 25 degrees”.
