Various organisations working on the fire in Carlow Town say any asbestos burned in the blaze doesnt pose a serious health risk to people.
The EPA, Council and local emergency services are meeting today to discuss yesterdays blaze at the former Erin Foods factory on the Cannery Road.
Fire crews remain at the scene and are continuing to dampen down the area and is working to remove 900 bales of straw from there.
All Roads around the area have re-opened and the scene is being preserved by Gardai.
Fire Chief Ger Guerin says people living in the area no longer need to stay indoors but he has advised to keep doors and windows closed as the smoke coming from the smoldering bales has a smell and can seep into houses.
Inspector Martin Walker from Carlow Garda Station is appealing for witnesses who were in the area around the time the fire started
