With many heading to Ratheniska for the last day of the ploughing, it seems for some of the country’s senior politicians are making Carlow and Kilkenny their destination.
Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment is Peter Burke is attending a Fine Gael breakfast event on the outskirts of Kilkenny city with a number of other functions understood to be on his itinerary.
Party colleague Jennifer Carroll MacNeill, who is Minister for European Affairs & Defence, will help Catherine Callaghan officially launch her General Election campaign in Carlow this evening.
Meanwhile, Fianna Fáil Mary Butler, who’s responsible for Mental Health and Older People, is set to address Nursing Home Ireland’s conference which is underway in Kilkenny.
