ATHLETICS UPDATE – 5th for Ciara Everard in 800m – Cliodhna Manning misses out

Kilkennys Ciara Everard has come 5th in the 800 metres semi finals at the World University Games in Gwangju.

She qualifies for the final as one of the fastest losers.

Meanwhile the Irish men’s football team featuring 8 IT Carlow players lost 1 – 0 to Italy in the quarter finals.

Earlier Kilkennys Cliodhna Manning narrowly missed out on a spot in the finals of the 100 metres at the European U23 championships in Estonia.
