A local auctioneer says the drop in properties being advertised for sale has been really noticeable in Kilkenny.
A new report says that since 2010 there’s been a 50 percent decrease in the units advertised
Just 1.1% of all private stock in the country advertised in January of this year was in Kilkenny and 1.3% in Carlow.
Peter McCreery of Sherry Fitzgerald McCreery Auctioneers in Kilkenny told KCLR news they’re not just anonymous figures saying he has noticed the drop.
He said they have a lot of potential buyers on their system but just don’t have the housing stock for them.
