The Bagenalstown community is in complete shock following a serious sexual assault on a young girl earlier this week.
Local Councillor Andy Gladney says people in the town are appalled that something like this could have happened.
At about 2.15 on Tuesday morning a man answered his door to the teenage girl who claimed she’d been assaulted.
It’s understood to have happened in the vicinity of a bonfire at Father Cummins Park on Halloween night.
No arrests have been made as of yet and Gardaí are still appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
Speaking to KCLR News this morning, Councillor Gladney says locals are disgusted.
