The acting President of the Irish Farmer’s Association has stood down to pursue election to the post.
The news came late last night after the executive of the body had survived a number of motions of no confidence.
It follows the release of the report into pay and structures at the body by Con Lucey the former Chief Economist with the IFA.
Now for the second time in a month the IFA has a new leader at the helm – the associations National Treasurer Jer Bergin from Ballacolla takes over until there’s a Presidential election.
