Brace yourselves for the worst storm in years – it’s about to hit today.
Very high winds with gusts of up to 120km an hour are likely to cause some damage later while heavy rain could lead to flash flooding in places.
Local forecaster Alan O Reilly of carlowweather.com says we will see the worst of it this afternoon here in Carlow and Kilkenny with winds set to peak between 2-3pm in Kilkenny and 3-4pm in Carlow.
