More staff at Bausch and Lomb in Waterford will vote today on cost saving proposals put forward by management.
The cuts were accepted yesterday by members of the trade union SIPTU, which represents the majority of staff at the plant.
Today, members of the TEEU will vote on the package.
The revised deal will see staff take a pay cut of 7.5 per cent, as well as an increase in productivity and changes to the company’s sick pay scheme.
Under the deal – 200 people will also lose their jobs at the contact lens manufacturer.
11 hundred people currently work at the plant.
Welcoming acceptance of the package by SIPTU, Bausch and Lomb last night said it would not ask for more concessions from staff.
It promised to continue its investment in the Waterford plant in the long term.
