Bill being proposed to make it easier for locals to buy their council houses

A new bill being put forward by Fianna Fail will make it easier for locals to buy out their local authority houses.

That’s according to Carlow/Kilkenny Deputy Bobby Aylward who’s welcoming the new bill which he says will see the Tenant Purchase Scheme overhauled and improved.

The scheme was put in place earlier this year, but Deputy Aylward says it’s not working due to current issues with income limits and age barriers.

Speaking to KCLR, Bobby says if this bill goes ahead, it will make it much easier for people in Carlow and Kilkenny to buy out their local authority homes.
