Interview: Karan Casey
World reknowned singer Karan Casey has come back on the scene as singer/songwriter, this time with a fine collection of her own material. The songs are often personal in nature, which is an unusual step for someone who is known for her deeply felt interpretations of songs from the tradition, but uniquely this works in the new songs’ favour as her two roles as singer and songwriter combine to great effect.
Make no mistake, this is a beautiful album and deserves to be heard.
Karan comes to Goresbridge (to the beautiful Ionad Dara) on Friday April 3rd.
A limited number of tickets are available from
Gerry Kavanagh on 086-0443152 and from
Martha Kelly 086-3479581
Karan will be joined on stage by Seán Óg Graham and Trevor Hutchinson and support on the night will be provided by Kilkenny’s own Anthony McCauley.
