The Carlow Irish Blood Transfusion Service is urging all blood donors to give blood in Carlow today.

3,000 donors are needed each week in Ireland and an average adult has between 10 and 12 pints of blood.
People can donate blood at the Talbot hotel in Carlow between 12 and 3.30 this afternoon.
