A body has been recovered from the River Nore near the bridge in Thomastown.
The search has now been stood down for Kilkenny man Derek Tyrrell.
Gardai have thanked all of the volunteers that assisted with the search over the course of the past few days.
Kilkenny sub-aqua, the civil defence, Garda and Naval divers, the army and boats from Carrick on Suir, New Ross and Thomastown paddlers all helped out in the operation as well as volunteers and friends and family of the 33 year old.
