Body of missing Carlow woman recovered from River Barrow

The body of a 49 year old Carlow woman has been recovered from the River Barrow near Bagenalstown.

Bernadette ‘Bernie’ Motley had been missing since January 31st.

Yesterday afternoon Kilkenny sub aqua divers recovered the body of a woman downstream from Bagenalstown.

They have been assisting Gardai and Carlow civil defence teams in recent weeks in the search for Bernie Motley and for another local man who went into the Barrow last Monday.
