Gardai in Kilkenny city are investigating following the death of a boy in the city last night.
The 6 year old is believed to have been knocked down in the Lintown grove area of Lintown hall last night by a car at approximately 6.30pm
The incident took place just after 6pm when the boy was hit by a car driven by a woman in her 40’s in a cul de sac in the estate
He was rushed to St Luke’s hospital but subsequently died.
A post mortem is due to take place on his body today at Waterford regional hospital.
A technical examination of the scene s completed last night and gardai are appealing for anyone who was in the area to contact them at Kilkenny Garda station on 056 7775000
