Budget day for local councils

It’s Budget Day for our local authorities.

Carlow and Kilkenny Councillors are this afternoon voting on their budget plans for 2015.

Local businesses will be keeping a close watch to see if theres any change to the rates they’ll be paying in the year ahead.

The new South East President of IBEC John Lynch has called  on all local authorities in the region this week to cut their commercial rates by 5percent.

He told KCLR news the councils need to help businesses recover.
