Budget reaction: Local doctor says new GP contract has to come before free care scheme is expanded

A local GP says promises of a new GP contract should be followed through before any talks of extending the Free care to children scheme.

The Government announced in the Budget yesterday that it wants to expand the care for under 6’s scheme to include children up to the age of 12.

Dr Tadhg Crowley of Ayrfield Medical Practice says the new GP contract has to happen first.
