Calls for houses on Barrack Street, Carlow to be knocked before end of this year

Carlow’s Mayor wants to see derelict houses along Barrack Street knocked before the year is out.

He says plans to create a public walk-through to better connect the Fairgreen Shopping Centre and the town centre by knocking some of the council-owned houses there have been talked about for too long

Speaking to KCLR News, Mayor Cassin says there’s no real reason why work hasn’t started to date and says it’s up to people to keep the pressure on.
