Denis Foley says the Royal Oak Junction can’t cope with the amount of traffic forecast for the next number of years.

He’s calling for a roundabout to be put in place at the Royal Oak Junction in Bagenalstown.

The new Walsh’s Whiskey Distillery in Royal Oak is due to open in the middle of June – which is set to bring an estimated 100,000 visitors to the area by 2020.

The junction in question has up to 7,000 vehicles passing through it every day.

He says he has the backing of his council colleagues but funding now has to be found.
