Carlow and Kilkenny are to get a new fire truck each

40 new appliances will be provided across the 27 Local Authority Fire and Rescue Services

New fire trucks coming to Carlow and Kilkenny will provide vital lifesaving equipment to the fire service.

That’s according to Carlow Kilkenny TD Jennifer Murnane O’Connor following the news that Carlow and Kilkenny will each receive a new ‘Class B’ fire appliance.

40 new appliances will be provided across the 27 Local Authority Fire and Rescue Services.

Deputy Murnane O’Connor says the new equipment is so important to the local firefighters:

“I believe that this is so important that we have these ‘Class B’ fire appliances because it’s not easy in their line of work. The accidents they are called to can be really horrific and then you could be called to a fire, which is, you know, another serious issue. So I’m delighted to see this equipment and it’s well deserved for the fire rescue services in Carlow and Kilkenny.”
