Carlow and Kilkenny appear to not be impacted by the closure of some creches today.

17 childcare services in neighbouring counties and across the country are at risk of not opening as registrations are incomplete due to a garda vetting issue.

Tusla’s team is working with them to try and get them renewed.

Federation of Early Childhood Providers Chairperson Elaine Dunne said some families will have have to rejig their plans for today, noting; “Unfortunately for parents they would have got an email last night, late last night, or they may be going into services this morning to be told that they will not be able to open up and take their children into their services today due to a registration issue”.
