Carlow/Kilkenny TD Peter ‘Chap’ Cleere is urging community groups across Carlow and Kilkenny to prepare for the opening of the Community Centre Investment Fund.
Applications open on May 29th, with funding available for both small and large-scale projects.
Grants range from 10,000 to 100,000 euro supporting renovations, equipment upgrades and energy improvements.
Applicants must provide match funding, and Deputy Cleere says the scheme is vital for supporting rural communities. “This Community Centre Investment Fund is a very positive step for community centres and all of the people that they serve, particularly in rural Ireland.”
“It strengthens the role as vital local hubs, places where people can connect, access support and feel part of their community and with this additional funding, centres will be better equipped to improve their facilities and continue to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives, in particularly in rural Carlow and Kilkenny.”
