Over four million euro extra’s due to our two local authorities in Local Property Tax.
Carlow County Council’s to get a 2.7 million increase in baseline funding with 1.5 million for their Kilkenny counterparts.
The announcement’s been made by Minister Darragh O’Brien following a review of how the money’s allocated.
Local TD Jennifer Murnane O’Connor sums up the new baseline markers for the constitutency’s two main councils:
“Last year we would have been just a little over 6 million and now this year in the new budget we are going to be nearly 9 million which is to me is a really big increase. I also want to welcome the increase for Kilkenny. Kilkenny was over 10 million last year and they have now received 1.5 million extra which brings them over 12 million.”
