KCLR continues to hold its position in the local listening market.
Research proves strength of KCLR
The results of the JNLR have been published and they contain great news for radio in general and KCLR in particular.
The JNLR (it stands for Joint National Radio Listership Research) is one of Ireland’s largest in – person research projects and involves asking a massive sample of 16,000 people all over the country about their daily and weekly listening habits.
The survey shows radio in general is in great health with 3.4 million adults tuning into radio every day.
In Carlow Kilkenny KCLR has once again confirmed its position as the most listened to radio station – bar none – across the two counties. The results are based on interviews conducted with hundreds of people across the two counties.
Look at the facts: the research found that each week 66,000 adults tune into KCLR (that’s a whole lot more than KCLR’s nearest competitor which has a 45,000 weekly reach) and overall KCLR continues to enjoy a massive 31% share of all prime time radio listening each weekday (KCLR’s nearest competitor lags far behind with a 22% share).
Radio’s strong listenership in general and KCLR in particular is all good news for advertisers and marketers. While attention span to online content is measured in seconds or even less, the average Irish radio listener spends 1 ½ hours each day tuned in to radio. And numerous research projects carried our into radio show that across a range of metrics marketing on radio provides a rich return per € invested (check out www.radiocentreireland.ie
In the age of toxic online content and plummeting trust ratings for material online, radio continues to be the most trusted medium for news, information and entertainment.
Finally another recent research project released by the Reuters Institute provided further affirmation of the relevance and value of local stations like KCLR. The research found that among all types of news, local news is clearly the most popular content among consumers of content, online on socials or across broadcast.
A sincere thank you to our valued listeners and advertisers from the entire KCLR Team.
