Carlow and Kilkenny train commuters urged to check revised timetables for Irish Rail

Local train commuters are urged to check updated departure and arrival times before travelling.

Irish Rail’s new national timetable took effect yesterday with some revisions for the Dublin–Waterford line which includes Carlow town, Bagenalstown, Kilkenny city and Thomastown.

Changes include the bringing forward of the 1:05pm departure from Waterford to Heuston to 1pm, while the 8.20pm return service will no longer call at stops between Hazelhatch and ParkWest and the 4:10pm Friday offering from Heuston to Waterford will now depart at 4:05pm.

Most others see only minor adjustments, but travelers should allow extra time especially over the busy Christmas period.
