Carlow at lower end of the scale for child protection applications in 2014

A new report shows significant variations in the number of applications to place children in care across the country.
The Child Care Law Reporting project is due to be published in full shortly but some of the figures have been released and Carlow is considerably lower than other counties with just 16 applications.
Cork meanwhile accounted for more than half of all the reviews of Care Orders made in Ireland last year – Mallow had 231 applications alone while Letterkenny in Co Donegal had 368.
