Carlow Cllr Jennifer Murnane-O’Connor likely to run for Fianna Fáil in General Election

A Carlow councillor looks set to join two sitting TDs on the Fianna Fáil ticket for the next General Election.

Bobby Aylward and John McGuinness will be confirmed as the Kilkenny candidates next week, while Jennifer Murnane O’Connor is now fully expected to be the candidate selected at the Carlow convention next Monday night in the Lord Bagenal.

Her colleague, Fintan Phelan, had put his name forward for the bye-election but confirmed this morning that he won’t be contesting the General Election.
